New lens for my first camera

I started this blog to share my journey with my Pentax 645N medium format film camera. But the journey to the Pentax was through nearly twenty or so years with various digital SLR Canons (350D, 50D and the 7D) preceded by my first camera, a Canon EOS 300…

I’ve been using it on and off for a while and decided it needed a new lens for the trip to Norway so I bought a ‘nifty fifty’ from MPB. I love it. The lowest f-stop of 1.8 provides a wide range of shooting opportunities, it’s light meaning the Canon 300 rig is noticeably lighter than a DSLR and it is sharp. Pin sharp. I’ve run some Ilford film through it throughout the holiday period. Here is a selection of the results.
